The AIChE Engineering Kids Day Camp is held bi-annually for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The Fall Day Camp is Halloween themed and the Spring Day Camp is all about Earth Day and protecting our planet. The Day Camp is a 3-hour long event that is held on a Saturday or Sunday. Each Day Camp includes activities and crafts related to the theme and STEM topics.

This event is organized by our Day Camp Coordinators and run by volunteers from our AIChE student chapter that have completed a background check with the College of Engineering. There is a small participation fee, which helps us cover the cost of the supplies and raise some money for our chapter.

The Fall 2020 day camp will be hosted on October 31st and is Halloween themed. The cost is $10 per kid and $5 for each kid after. The program runs from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. This program will be held over Zoom this semester due to COVID-19, but supplies can be picked up for this event at the Seamans Center. Contact Payton Biddle (payton-biddle@uiowa.edu) for additional information, or click on this link to sign up:  https://www.engineering.uiowa.edu/future-students/k-12-outreach/aiche-da...

The AIChE UI chapter was invited to present on the Kids Day Camp program at the 2020 National AIChE Conference. Schools from around the country have the opportunity to learn about how the day camp is organized and ran at the University of Iowa from three previous Day Camp Coordinators.
